Business Computing is a degree designed to help you advance your career. As well as studying the breadth of Information Technology (electronic office programming, databases, and multimedia) you will also study fundamental areas of Business such as management, marketing, accounting economics, finance and accounting. This will equip you with the skills and understanding to evaluate a business user’s information requirements and develop and implement suitable computer systems.
You will study core aspects of computing, like data analytics and software development. You will also gain experience in areas of business like management, consulting, and IT operations. You will also develop broader skills employers value in IT professionals including leadership and teamwork.
We have strong links with industry and you will be able to work on real-world briefs and take part in a placement. You will discover how modern businesses use IT, and you will be given the opportunity to design your own solutions to real-world problems.
Many graduates work in positions which require a mix of business and IT skills, like project managers or software developers. Others work for companies like banks and insurance companies, or start their own business with their IT and vocational skills.
