Readers are still responding to the survey I sent out last week. It’s been great to read through the responses, though one thing gave me a bit of a surprise…

According to the folks who answered, here’s what our community wants most…

• Sun! Many folks said they wanted to escape cold winters and retire at least part of the year someplace sunny.
• Financial freedom. Either from stress about their current financial situation, or for a fun way to make extra funds for upgraded travel.
• Specific destinations. Our readers are attracted to a certain destination like Scotland, Belize or Argentina… and they want something they can do while living there or as a means to get back there once or twice a year.
• Travel. It’s not a surprise that my adventuresome readers want to travel.
• Photography. LOTS of folks said they want to take photos.

One thing that caught me off-guard is the number of folks who actually said they’d like to “earn an income while traveling BEFORE they invest time and money to learn the skills of travel writing or photography.

Which reminded me that I should make four things extra-clear:

1. Money—the green stuff we collect here in the States—was created as a way to barter services for skills. If you have (or you can develop) skills, people will exchange them for money. I don’t know anyone who does it the other way around (i.e. makes money without skills).

2. If it’s one of OUR programs you’re considering, remember: Almost everything we publish comes with a 100% satisfaction guarantee. And in some cases, that guarantee lasts for a full year to give you plenty of time to develop your skills…

3. You’ve got to reach out and get it. We’ll give you everything you need to make it happen… but you absolutely must reach out and take it for yourself. There is no other way.

4. Don’t forget that small steps can get you there. Even when life is CRAZY.
