As we approach the Fourth of July, I thought this month would be a great time for a color photo challenge theme. And what better colors to choose than red, white, and blue? Not only are these colors a representation of independence, and the colors of the American flag, but they’re also great summertime colors. Think: outdoor picnics, parades, barbecues, beach vacations, block parties, and more… This month’s theme will give you the chance to display your patriotism, and get creative at the same time. Try to get all three colors into your photo, or just focus on one or two individually. Submissions can include: **unique shots of the American flag **People or children wearing red, white, or blue ** A creative combination of two of this month’s colors **Integration of all three colors And more… With three colors for this month’s challenge, there’s lots of room for creativity. Submissions for July’s Challenge are due by 8:00 a.m. EST on Monday, July 26. You can submit your photos by clicking on the “Enter to Win” tab on The Photographer’s Life website. Remember — only ONE photo per person is allowed in the Challenge. If you submit multiple photos, they’ll be deleted and you’ll be out of the running. This month’s first-place winner will get a $30 gift certificate for the AWAI E-Bookstore, and the first-, second-, and third-place winners will all be entered into the Hall of Fame, to compete for next year’s $2,000 Grand Prize. Be sure to check out all of the details about the contest guidelines on our website. And stay tuned for June’s winners, coming up tomorrow. –Lori Lori Allen Director, Great Escape Publishing [Editor’s Note: Learn more about how you can turn your pictures into cash in our free online newsletter The Right Way to Travel.
