Next month’s Photo Challenge theme is “Patterns Interrupted,” and it’s designed to have you out taking pictures of patterns that surround you in everyday life — in nature, at work, at home, and everywhere in between. First, look for a pattern. Then, look for an interruption in it – a picket fence with one fence post broken, a sea of black umbrellas and one red, three men in black suits with a fourth man in bright purple, etc. August’s first-place winner will receive a $30 gift certificate to our online bookstore. And, first-, second-, and third-place winners will be entered into our grand prize photo challenge — coming up in October — for a chance to win $2,000. For this month’s challenge, first, take note of these natural and man-made patterns that surround you in your daily life. Then, look even closer to find interruptions in those patterns.
