April’s Photo Challenge Theme: April Showers
By Shelly Perry in Portland, OR “Some people walk in the rain, others just get wet.” — Roger Miller Spring is officially here — and with it comes the rain. Whatever you do, don’t let gray days be an excuse to leave your camera in the bag. In fact, clouds act like a big light diffuser for the sun, making conditions perfect for great people shots… And rainy days can bring out some very fun, creative shots using water and reflections, too. Show off your most creative rainy day photo in this month’s Photo Challenge: “April Showers.” Photo submissions can include: ** Kids and people out playing in the rain… ** Dramatic shots in the great outdoors… ** Quintessential and colorful springtime rain photos… ** Getting messy in the mud, and puddle stomping in the street… ** Reflections that appear after the rain… ** Or other creative, well-composed, rainy-day-themed shots. Submissions for April’s Challenge are due by 8:00 a.m. EST on Monday, April 26. You can submit your photos by clicking on the “Enter to Win” tab on our website. This month’s first-place winner will get a $30 gift certificate for the AWAI E-Bookstore, and the first-, second-, and third-place winners will all be entered into the Hall of Fame, to compete for next year’s $2,000 Grand Prize.
