“Great Escape Publishing is really about confidence, prestige, power, conquering the world and being the best person you can be.” – Lori Allen

While the majority of our programs are focused around travel writing and photography… there are several other get-paid-to-travel opportunities we highlight as well. And in this episode you’ll learn all about import/export.

If you’re after spare income for a travel fund or you need an income replacement all together so you can live anywhere and come and go as you please, import/export may be the perfect opportunity for you.

But what is import/export?

Picture this scenario: Surely you’ve been somewhere and forgotten something. Maybe you’re about to fly somewhere and realize you’ve forgotten your iPhone charger. You pop into an airport store and pay $25 or more for something you know can be made in China for 50 cents. That’s basically what importing is all about. You hook up with manufacturers, import the goods directly from them at cost and sell them for less than the commercial stores. And, you pocket the difference.

With the help of the internet, finding suppliers today is easy.   And now with companies like Amazon, most of the work is done for you.

Amazon has a giant warehouse and you can take advantage of that by setting up an Amazon store. They import the products for you, ship them to your buyers and send you a check.

One of our greatest import/export success stories is Jeff Carley. Jeff has about four Amazon stores and makes on average, an upwards of $12,000 a month, with a profit of about $9,000 each month. And once Jeff has a product store set up, he only spends about 4 to 5 hours a week overseeing his import business.

$12,000 a month is nothing to sneeze at! And in addition to the money and freedom it allows, import/export is a lot of fun.

It’s a great opportunity because it’s like a second career without all the work! It’s the feeling of building something… creating something… owning something, without the responsibility of hiring a staff, keeping inventory, or maintaining an office.

The pay-outs, like in Jeff’s case are nice, too.

If you want to try it – start a small import/export business from your kitchen table with a $50-$500 investment and the potential to make $12,000 a month like Jeff, listen to this episode for more details on how to get started.
